After listening to Interpol intently since their first album in 2002 I have always looked forward to their new releases. They play a great live gig, I was lucky enough to see them in 2006.
It has been three years since the release of their last album; Our Love To Admire, which was a great album, though seemingly not quite as good as their first two. This time Interpol seem to be back on par, the album has all of the dynamics that made the first two great, they have brought back the eerie and slow guitar noises rather than epic picking like in Our Love To Admire. Though I do like this it seems like I have heard it all before, Interpol have had three years to make an album and they make one that sounds like all of the other stuff they have done before, I mean this is better than coming back with a shit album, but it's slightly disappointing nonetheless.
With all of the bad music floating around at the moment it's good that Interpol have created another quality album, just a shame they didn't take a risk with it.
I'd give it 8 out of 11 , good effort guys.
